What equipment do I need before starting?
The great thing about UGC is that you only need a few things to get started - a phone, tripod, tripod phone mount, a light (either a ring light or a soft box) and microphone.
You'll need a desktop/laptop for editing videos, writing e-mails, and creating your UGC portfolio. You CAN do that on your phone, but it's time-consuming and I do not recommend it.
The editing app CapCut is free. However, all of the features we'll go over are on the Pro (paid) version.
As an alternative, there's Wondershare Filmora. Equally beginner friendly - AND powerful, this editing software is less expensive than CapCut.
Some UGC styles require additional equipment - podcasts and in-car. It's not necessary to do this style of UGC video. However, knowing how to make them can land you more brand deals.
In the course, there are some websites that will be used to create your portfolio and locate brand e-mail addresses. There are free/trail options available.
